The Idaho LWC's next featured athlete is Connor Davis of Boise Barbell Club in Boise, ID. Connor is a three-time National finalist and holds 5 state records in the 62kg and 69kg open division. Connor will compete in Gainesville, FL on April 6-9th at the 2017 Nike Under 25 University Championships.
Connor's hometown is Boise, ID and he is a 2015 Boise State University graduate with a degree in mechanical engineering. Connor started Olympic Weightlifting through Crossfit and has dedicated himself to the sport since 2014. Prior to finding weightlifting, Connor was a competitive motocross racer at the local level. His favorite lift to train is the snatch and his favorite competition lift is the clean and jerk.
Connor had an impressive performance at the 2016 American Open placing 11th and going 92/120/212 with both lifts as competition PR's as a 62kg. Connor stated after his experience at the American Open:
Connor holds all of the open division state records in the 62kg weight class and also holds two state records as a 69kg lifter in the clean and jerk and total. Connor also placed 12th in the 2015 National University Championships and 7th in the 2016 National University Championships. The Idaho LWC salutes Connor's work ethic, strength, and all that he brings to the sport of weightlifting in the state of Idaho.
